Steam Locomotive. Reno (The train used in the movie
"Wild Wild West"). Replacement parts for a restoration
project, made to exacting original specifications. The
bell is 18" in diameter and weighs about 130 lbs. Hear the

Kingpins |
These are the suspension
parts, (Kingpins), for the University of Michigan Solar
Car the "M-Pulse", the winners of the American Solar
Challenge 2001. These were milled from solid blocks of
7075 aluminum. Over 25 pounds of material were removed
to make each piece ending up at 2-1/2 pounds! There are
four different versions of these parts, one for each
wheel. The Kingpins are approx. 13" long X 4" high. The
wall thickness is less than 1/4" and the ears are .100"

forming die. Developed from a laser scanning of a hand
made prototype of the part, then machined from the 3D
CAD file in D-2 tool steel. About 5 inches x 8
inches. The 2 halves are held together and
the tube is forced in
to make the twisted
shape.

Socket |
Protoype twist lock
light socket for high power studio lamps. Intracate
internal features allowed for a quick lamp change
for different lighting needs. | |

Cam |
Bronze Rotary Cam for a packaging
machine. The cam features had to be held
in relationship to the square feature on the bottom within very tight specifications. | | |
